World Voices:
Peace on Earth

The Sixth Annual presentation of “World Voices: Peace On Earth”, conducted by Dr. Karle Erickson, had a Latino twist this year as the World Voices ensemble of singers and instrumentalists presented “Gloria” by Ariel Ramirez and “El Cielo Canta Alegria” by Pablo Sosa with Latino instruments and percussion. The audience joined the celebration singing the Puerto Rican “ Halle , Halle , Halle ” and clapping the rhythm of “Sahayta.” The trumpet fanfare announced the grand ceremonial processional of children’s choirs carrying flags from many nations.

The children’s choirs each presented their own musical hope for peace. All 2000 persons (the audience, the 300 singers in the children’s choirs and World Voices) raised their voices singing “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands” as the final exclamation of hope for peace in our world. The event lifts up the hope for world peace and touches children’s lives by enriching their spirits through music.
